Working to close wage gaps for those serving adults with IDD

We are coordinating with other advocacy groups and legislators to require state regulators to adjust the wages of DSPs paid from waivers to at least keep step with inflation.

As part of our continuing advocacy, we have met with legislators and groups concerned about the collapsing system of adult service providers over the past 8 months. This included a meeting with state representatives of Health and Human Services in January described elsewhere. The ideal solution solution centers on a $400M investment that would help decrease the waiting list for waivers (12,000+ statewide) and boost the amount offered in each waiver to account for increased costs. But we have recently learned that the bill passed by the Pennsylvania House on June 5th included instead $170M in cuts to services for adults with IDD...... so follow the evolving story at www.fix66.org.
