A unique opportunity to not only provide training, support, and care to Margot - a delightful young woman with IDD - but to also help to extend innovative community-based programs of adaptive recreation and environmental stewardship for people with IDD.

We offer competitive salaries and an exceptionally stimulating and supportive work environment! Email us for more information.
2. To develop work, volunteer, and recreation programs for Margot and others
We are collaborating with local businesses and non-profits, while leveraging partnerships with agencies at the county, state, and national level. Read more about the programs we are building in Kennett here
Our Goals
1. To ensure 35-50 hours a week of direct support for people like Margot
Margot is a 23 year-old, non-verbal young woman with significant levels of IDD. Our goal is to provide her with 5 to 6 days a week of teaching / support at home and in the community. We are working with other families with similar needs who are looking for full- or part-time support.

Despite her disabilities, Margot is a very active volunteer in our community. Look at just some of the ways she stays healthy and helps her community. We began developing these activities in the spring, of 2021, with the help of direct staff support from the CHAAMP program at the Chester County Intermediate Unit.

What are the unique benefits? You can live in a historic house in Kennett Square at a nominal cost
While we renovate KAN's current site on historic East Linden, we will relocate to another historic house just down the road at 123 North Willow for 10-12 months, beginning in March 2025. During that time, any teacher working full-time with us is free to live in one of the 3 bedrooms, in exchange for:
-
Providing general support to Margot and her nanny should we travel
-
Accompanying us on up to two trips of 7-10 days while still being paid to work with Margot
- Provide some general lesson / material preparation
-
Keeping the house tidy
-
additional coverage (e.g., bringing her shopping, staying overnight at our house, etc.)
-
Developing new programs with community partners.
Once the renovations are complete, one bedroom may become available at 315 East Linden. We will then proceed with major renovation and expansion to 123 N. Willow, which we hope will be complete towards the end of 2026. This will become KAN's home and which will include 1 or 2 bedroom suites for use by staff
